Tuition is by appointment at my well equipped home studio in Bonogin.
In some cases I travel to meet students if suitable times can be negotiated.
Most people have a weekly lesson. I generally follow the public school terms so there are breaks.
Fees are payable monthly in advance.
Allow some budget for materials including books.
My range of books support lesson points starting from $15 to $30.
Books give you many chances to recall and review material past the lesson introduction point.
Some books especially cater to reading skills, others use more pictorial approaches to understanding music.
Please check out the youtube video link below to get some idea of the range of my work. There are samples of classical, rock and songs using guitar, uke, banjo, harmonica and keyboard. There are kid songs, covers, originals, instrumentals and me singing.
I'll be moving things around and to organize them better into groups.
My blog is an "educational focus."
It discusses the complex field of education which is vast and wordy. It's in sections of 5 to 10 minute maximum reading time.
Not every musician wants to be a teacher and there is a difference.
I love teaching. If you pay for lessons, you might want to know that your chosen teacher has both skills and the insight and wisdom to communicate these ideas.
More and more is being done on-line and I will share resources this way but face to face lessons are my focus.
Being able to check an instrument, watch and help in real time, clarify ideas without delay and share materials which match an individual is a personal service and better face-to-face.
Duets, improvising and band skills are better when there are professional players to guide you.
Not everyone sings, but singing helps all musicians understand the steps to better arrangements and the processes required for great musicianship.
